The Costa Blanca is one of the most beautiful areas of Spain and tipped by the World Health Organisation as one of the healthiest places in the world. It offers a wonderful climate and lifestyle coupled with its mild winters are of course the major reasons for its popularity, with over 300 days of sunshine every year. It boasts some of the best beaches in the Mediterranean. Many of the them have the European Standard 'Blue Flag' and are of fine sand, with clear blue waters. They are ideal for swimming, diving and water sports and offer fun and relaxation for all the family. Here the emphasis on the family and social life and taking second place work has to fit around play this less stressful way of life coupled with a much lower cost of living makes it a wonderful place to have a new lifestyle.
The Spanish people are friendly and hospitable, and are pleased to see you take part in many of the traditions which have been passed down through generations. There are many colourful fiestas held throughout the year, which offer an unforgettable experience and allow you to fully embrace the wonderful way of life on the Costa Blanca
The food of the region is of excellent quality, rice dishes, such as traditional paella and a great variety of fresh seafood. There are many small local bars and restaurants offering 'tapas' to 'A la Carte' menus, it can be very difficult to choose, making Spain the number one destination in Europe. You can afford to eat out regularly 7 Euros can buy a 3 course with a bottle of wine.
Medical Services are first class with many English speaking doctors and waiting lists are shorter.
Education here could not be better. There are many international schools following the GCSE Curriculum and their syllabus is in English. The state schools here are also very welcoming and your children will soon settle in as there will probably be other English children there as well.
Running Costs Once you have bought your home, annual rates and property taxes are not overwhelming. Based on an average two bedroom property valued at £80,000, the annual running costs for a house or apartment in Spain are considerably lower than in the UK. Naturally the cost does vary according to the size and occupation of your property.
